To Smart For Anyone’s Good

Buddy knew intelligence

Was a double edged sword.

And stupid is as stupid does and

Smart brings no reward.

The wisdom of crowds

Is a dangerous guage

Rat pilots on a ship

With a cargo of waves

Sinking so softly

While the rats behave

Like water is good

And the water will save

Rats worth saving

The saved know who they are

They watch the ship a’sinking

From their drifting sandbar.

None shall be rescued

Sealed is their fate.

As squeeks cry out from the drowning rats

The sandbar rats elate

They know rats can’t swim.

The future seems so grim.

And unless you’re safe on a sandbar

Survival is so slim

That rats agree

If they’re to see

Another day

Then they must stay

In the crowd stuck on the sandbar.

Much of what I write will be quite understandable to insane folks.

The rest will be, uh, less understandable...
