Long Goodbyes

Okay, I love you and

Good bye. Good bye.

The weather is fine and

Don’t lie, don’t lie.

I know you don’t remember.

Don’t remember, don’t remember.

So you peat and repeat.

Over and over and

Even though you shoo’d me off

Told me wait through spit and cough.

Mom, I love you lots!

The best mom shit you not.

Through thick and thin

You kept us in

Your heart so full of love.

Mom, I can’t get enough,

Of you, and repetitious thoughts and

I will be your memory…

The rest will be, uh, less understandable...

My mom is 86 yrs old, dead once but came back to life and now I struggle with these emotions of boredom and disdain for predictable conversation.

I know one day she’ll be dead again and I’ll pine for our hourly calls and I’ll not hear her voice again.

Today I cry for that day. I love you so very much mom!
