There’s a hellova EYENNN way off in the distance.
Tearing this morning in two.
Its a familiar noise from the ribbon of black.
As rubber and asphalt unglue.
A jake brake staccato BURRR crackles early morning fog,
Wrenching EYENNN abruptly into RRREEECCH!
Now URP-UURRPPs for a second until the culminating SPAM!
Then its metal mashy SPU-LAM!! (oh gawd, no!) TINKLE.
Followed by SPLSSSHHH and TINC…TINC…TINC of stuff steaming and cooling down.
Mighta heard an OOHHNNGG and maybe HARV, HARVEEE! too.
But WHHISSH the wind-tree symphony wringed all airborne sounds out.
Almost like the noise was never there.
And uh, hey. Wait a minute.
Wha, why am I tied…?
I CAN’T MOVE MY ARMS!
HEY! HEY!
SIR! MADAM!
HEY OVER HERE!
SIR…! MADAM…!
I HEARD SOMETHING HAPPEN RIGHT OVER THERE!
HEY NURSE…! SOMETHING’S HAPPENING OVER THERE!
Thank you, friend.
Barry out.
