All he had, it could not save him.

Oh sure, the boy could swim.

But he couldn’t drag a boat

Or jump a moat.

He couldn’t do it.

He tried, he knew it.

But try means nothing

And he wanted something

Something to happen.

Listen to their crap, then

Go ahead

And do it yourself.

Knew damn well.

Deep, deep inside him.

It wasn’t sink or swim.

It was dead men floating.

Still, he kept hoping.

They would come to life.

And save themselves

But he could tell
